Health Update & my Goals

Many of you asked me about my workout habits and how my new years goals are doing. In my bullet journal postings I talk a lot about my goal setting process and how I manipulate my daily routine to fit in as many healthy habits as possible. I had indeed big dreams for 2018 and decided that this year should be my healthiest year so far. But guess what – everything changed when I struggled with an inflamed muscle, that I tried to soothe since November 2017. How long can something like this drag on? Long story short: After hours of physiotherapy, strechting & osteopathy and taking it really slow (like really s-l-o-w) for the last couple of months I finally got the official „go“ to hit the gym (and the streets) again. You guys know how much I love working out outside. I got my first workout plan from my trainer and I was so happy to see that my first task was a short run.

We had a little heart to heart and he told me to upgrade my gear – especially my running shoes – to give me more support and protection. Read all about my new goal and what I picked for the occasion after the jump!

My goal – 5k

After many years of running most of us know about their „feel good distance“. For me that’s the distance I can almost run every day without feeling sore or to exhausted afterwards. The 5k mark was always a good match for days, when I was running regularly. After not being able to run as much the last couple of months my stamina declined and I need to build up some muscle mass, so 5k is indeed a goal I need to work for. I want to keep it realistic and fun, but I can’t wait to hit the streets and the feeling of accomplishment when I finish my race.

New gear – new me

Nike quipped me with my new running shoes, the extra soft Nike Epic React Flyknit. They are super bouncy and the perfect partner in crime for everyone, who want to take care and protect body while running. It’s it one of the lightest running shoes you can buy and it almost feels like walking (or running, in this case) on clouds. It’s super durable as well and it’s supposed to keep the „brand new feeling“ for a very long time. The colour combination just puts me in a good mood and I feel so ready for spring whenever I put them on.

I can only recommend to take a closer look at this running shoe by yourself, pick it up, squish it – you will be surprised about the foam texture and bounciness! Let me know what you think 🙂

Best of both worlds

A fresh set of workout clothes motivates me a lot – I am just one of those people. But I learned the hard way, that it’s not only about looking cute and stylish. An extra layer of protection, real innovation and expertise comes in handy when you try to hit your goals and step up your game. The Nike Epic React Flyknit ticks all of those boxes and I already paired it with a daytime outfit as well – I just can’t say no to a nice, white pair of running shoes. Especially if they come with an instant feel good boost like these ones.

It’s not only about the goal – is about the process

I will keep you posted how I am planning on achieving my goal and how I am doing. Get prepared for some ups and downs, because I am really staring from the bottom this time. I can’t wait to just put my new shoes on and go – this „everything is possible“ feeling.

    I’d love to get into running, but I think I have to get into walking first, because at the moment I am really bad at anything cardio related. We’ll see what the year brings, I am motivated to try it out. At the moment I#m really into yoga tho
